BaZi vs Western astrology
Both systems connect birth time with symbolic structure, but they use different calendars, reference points and interpretive languages.
Calendar and symbols
Western astrology maps planets, signs and houses. BaZi uses solar terms, Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, Five Elements and Yin–Yang polarity.
The central reference
A Western chart often begins with the Sun, Moon and Ascendant. BaZi reads other symbols in relation to the Day Master.
Timing
Planetary transits are central to Western timing. BaZi layers ten-year Da Yun cycles with annual and shorter stem-branch periods.
